Sewing Strawberries

Someone new has hopped into our sunny flowery garden today and her name is little strawberry.....i made her a while ago when i received an order of gorgeous pam kitty morning fabric and i just knew the strawberries on blue design would be perfect for a bunny.......these little rabbits just seem to multiply here...a bit like bunnies do in real life :)................
..............my favourite cereal bowls have strawberries on (and in) too.............
...............there are so many ways to pose a bunny......i decided to show little strawberry with the strawberry sampler page from one of my books, published a long time ago and called the cross stitch garden notebook..........i've had a thing for strawberries as decoration since way back to my early designing days....
...........lots of people have kindly asked about the rabbits i make and if i have patterns for them.....there is a bunny pattern with lop ears in my book simple sewn gifts, and next year the new bunny pattern will be published too....i will tell you all about it nearer the time......
............more strawberries....fabric ones this time.....i love these, having first seen fabric strawberries in a textile museum a long time ago i was thrilled when i found a pattern to make them myself and have done so ever since....they have been made as pincushions for centuries but making them now in fresh new fabrics instantly updates them....there are lots of patterns of varying sizes, and you can find them easily on the internet or in general sewing books...............
...............a yummy pot of strawberry jam..............
..........and a dish of fabric fruits to enjoy...............
.........yesterday, just in time for my strawberry themed post a lovely gift arrived for me from my sweet friend koralee at bluebirdnotes..............it was a copy of the latest issue of the wonderful  creative magazine called where women cook....
.....this is koralee's gorgeous project...so deliciously designed, styled and photographed as you would expect if you know her lovely blog......i will definitely be trying some of these recipes myself as well as enjoying the rest of the magazine......thank you so much, koralee....i will be emailing you x
.........one more thank you too today before i go this time to victoria at tangled sweetpea who gave me this pretty blog award.....thank you so much, it is so appreciated :)
........little strawberry and i are off for a little wander round the garden now, a bit of evening watering is needed as we had a very warm and sunny day today in our little patch :)......and then i will be sewing a block for my farmer's wife quilt....yes, still doing it....must have a show and tell of the blocks very soon..........
thank you for dropping it to see me here, it's always a pleasure to have your visits......wishing you a wonderful  week......with sunny  summer days and maybe some strawberries and cream..............back soon xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Love the strawberry theme such a sunny idea (and its still raining in Cumbria). I've made 2 of the rabbits from your pattern - the first was a bit spooky but I like the last one. Both girls so maybe I need to make a little boy! Looking forward to seeing some more farmers wife blocks.

How I do love strawberry season, and your post adds to the pleasure.

Thank you for reminding me of a little fabric strawberry in my first childhood sewing box. I think it was filled with some sort of emery powder that you would keep your pins and needles rust free.

Now I wonder whatever happened to that particular strawberry.

Your new bunnies are terrific.

Her little strawberry ears are just precious ... and that little jacket, adorable. Of course, all of your strawberry creations are wonderful! Very humid here today. Much better to sit inside and create. Have a great day. Tammy (PS I am on the hunt for doublesided tape ... not sure we have that thin kind here).

How cute is that little rabbit! I want her to jump around in my vegetable patch to add some cuteness to it. Adorable! What patience it must involve to make something like that... I would never be able to. I admire you.

I have bunny envy now, and a craving for strawberries!

It is such a long time since my sewing machine saw the light of day, but looking at those little strawberry pin cushions I'm thinking I might have to dust it off!

Loving your strawberry themed post and of course Strawberry bunny :-) I have some strawberry fragrance I bought some time ago for when I get the chance to make some fabric strawberries, one day, one day I will get time to make them :-)

Your little strawberry is adorable! My beloved Aunt Wanda, may God rest her soul, made me a few bunny dolls like that with clothes. I've gotten rid of a lot of stuffed animals as I've (gulp) aged but I can't part with those. Seeing the fun fabrics you used made me finally click the order button on some Pam Kitty Morning fabrics I've been lusting over. ;)

Your strawberries are adorable--love them in that jar!

When I went to make my comment, I was reading the one above me by Siobhan. I had forgotten that my grandmother made bunnies similar to yours! Her comment brought back great memories!! BTW, i LOVE your stawberries and bunnies!!! Penny

Oh, I love Strawberry! Glad to hear you're coming out with a pattern as I was going to ask if you sold them. I've noticed your "bunny friends" before and just adore them. I was never into dolls much as a child but an stuffed animal...yes and still am! It must be the Beatrix Potter part of me with their cute little clothes and lifestyles living in cute little cottages in the woods in the hollow of an old tree....perfect!
